Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
Wow, this sounds great! Maybe its time for my good old weather PC to step back and give a chance to a new piece of software and hardware (rPi or AndroidTV stick), while not breaking all the custom scripts I have.
Cant wait! There are probably enough testers already, so Ill wait for beta

Hi,
Cheers, Alan.
No you (he, I) can't. I think it's accessible only to beta testers.MackerelSky wrote:You can follow along with Steve's new adventure at this link

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I see there are a lot of Windows testers, but I didn't see many Mac and GNU/Linux testers. I am using Ubuntu MATE 14.04.1 LTS as my daily driver OS and I use several other distributions via VirtualBox for fun. I would be happy to volunteer. I also need to make sure my forecasters are compatible with it as well. Thanks!
Should the data in Cumulus 1 be left alone for the time being before adding it to MX?

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
Hi Steve, long days earlier that it was not going through here, you know, Christmas, work, hobbies. .. the case is that I have taken me a pleasant surprise with this theme.
I write little but leo much in the Forum, I can hardly write, because I have to use translators, I have no idea of English, but I am gradually understanding each day a little more. I say this so that you understand and why l don't participate more in the Forum.
Well, I am one of the moderators of Meteoclimatic in Spain, national but very interesting network. I am also a cumulus user since I started on these issues.
Within the network have sections referred to almost everything that can affect users, in fact have a unique thread for cumulus and other computer systems including the linux, and Rapberrypi.
If you consider it appropriate, I'd like to collaborate on the project. I would personally put a Raspi with ws1081 for now and later you could put a Davis Pro2 W XP or W7, even with Linux.
I have 3 stations 1081 and a Pro available, also I can "encourage" Linux users of the Meteocliamtic to join the project.
But I have a question.
MX will be able to collect the history of Cumulus1?
Can you follow up data to awekas?(awekas and Meteoclimatic use the same system)
I hope to understand how complicated it is to make me understand through a translator.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
It seems as tho I owe an apology here Alan, more than the one I gave. I guess since I was one of the first ones that offered to beta test the new MX, I was granted permission to access that forum and download the software, even tho I haven't installed VP to keep my current version running while installing the new version. That is something I never got back to Steve on like I told him I would.MackerelSky wrote:My apologies.AllyCat wrote:Hi,

You will just have to trust me that 'beta of MX' is in full swing at the link I gave you and I hope this clears up the reason I posted it in the first place. I feel like I lied earlier and had to come clean.
They are quickly crossing off a the known issues from all the different operating systems and weather instruments. I'm won't speak for Steve but it looks like a couple more weeks to tune it up.
All the Best Everyone, we'll just have to be patient.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
wxman13, I've added you as I don't have many OS X testers at the moment. To the rest of you recent volunteers, thank you, and I'll add you before too long.
To briefly answer some questions, Cumulus MX is as compatible with Cumulus 1 as I can make it. The data logs are exactly the same, you can switch back and forth between the two with the same data. The web tags are 99% the same. The same web sites are supported (WU etc). The same weather stations are supported.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I have just ordered my new Mac, arriving within the week. Would love to trial cumulus for Mac when it (the Mac!) arrives...
UPDATE: Mac has arrived! Saying goodbye to the PC..... running OSX Yosemite. Would be able to try moving data from PC to MAC, I have three year worth of data to move.
