Web pages not updating to server
I'm running Cumulus v 1.9.4 and windows xp
Since the 29th Nov I've not been able to upload or access my website and I'm now getting Error Message: Connect Error Code 11001
Any suggestion as to whether the problem is with my hosting provider, WebHost.uk.net or my end?
Thanks
Marny (Neil)

Re: Web pages not updating to server
It's hard to say, because that error just indicates a failure to connect to the FTP server. So assuming you haven't changed anything on your PC, it's something between your PC and the FTP server, or the FTP server itself.
One thought - have you upgraded to the latest build, and your security software is blocking the new version?
What do you mean by not being able to access your web site? You can't connect to it with your browser?

Re: Web pages not updating to server
I'm using v 1.9.4.
No changes to my set-up and using the same security software, Trend Micro.
I meant I cannot connect to nwm1.co.uk with my browser.
I've logged a trouble ticket with WebHost, explaining the problem to them also.
Thanks

Re: Web pages not updating to server
There's a DNS problem with your domain; nwm1.co.uk won't resolve to an IP address.

Re: Web pages not updating to server
Can you advise what I need to do to resolve? I'm unsure what a DNS problem is, what caused it and where to start to fix it. Sorry for sounding so helpless.

Re: Web pages not updating to server
It's a problem for whoever operates the name servers for your domain, which is most likely WebHost.uk.net, as it's their hosting that you're using.

I have no idea what this means but when I searched for your site I got this.

Re: Web pages not updating to server
Thanks Steve,
WebHost informed me they were making changes and migrating accounts to new servers over last weekend, which coincides with when this issue started. I did try to get help from them earlier today through their live chat, but found them very unhelpful.
Am I right in saying that you offer a hosting service now?
If so, what's involved in me terminating my account with Webhost and moving to you?

Re: Web pages not updating to server
Hi Jim, thanks for sending the attachmen it's much appreciated. However, like you I've not a clue what it's supposed to represent. That said, I will send on the WebHost and ask if they would explain.
Again, thanks
Neil

I do; details are here - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11876Marny wrote:Am I right in saying that you offer a hosting service now?
To use my hosting, you would need to log in to your control panel at Webhost and change the name servers to the ones for my hosting. I don't know exactly how you do that. Note that you would still need Webhost as the registrar of your domain name (unless you transferred it to another registrar). It's not clear from their web site whether they do actually offer domain names without also paying for hosting. If so, what's involved in me terminating my account with Webhost and moving to you?

Re: Web pages not updating to server
They seem to have sorted out the DNS problem, your web site is viewable again from here, currently showing data from 30th November.

Re: Web pages not updating to server
Hi Steve, - I raised another trouble ticket with WebHost late yesterday evening and now can view the correct information on my site.
So far no apology from WebHost and or explanation of what caused the problem. What is more disconcerting about them is the way in which they tried to deflect the issue away from them by saying everything was fine at their end and the problem must be elsewhere.
I'll see how things go just now with them, but will review my options at the renewal stage.
Again, thank you for all you help and support.
Neil
