Dayfile.txt Column Headers - Where Are They?

It is easy as cake to put Dayfile.txt into Excel, but how do you capture the column headers and paste them into the first row?

the column headers are in the file cumulus\dayfileheader.txt in the Cumulus program installed on your computer

Follow-up On Dayfile.txt Date Field,

Anybody have an Excel function to parse the dd/mm/yy to yyyy/mm/dd? The "Data to Columns" function is having problems.
Excel has problems when the text strings vary in width, meaning that a single date value 1-9 gets flipped and mixed with month.
Here is a simple reformatting of the field using Excel. Note what happens when we transition from Jan to Feb.

When you import a CSV file into Excel, I thought that you could specify how to import a date column, so you could tell it that date format was dd/mm/yy, and that there would therefore be no confusion?

I notice the header files are not present in MX. Are they exactly the same as the final version of Cumulus 1?

Also if they were delimited with commas like the data files they could be easily copied and pasted.

With regards to adding the headers to the data files themselves, I presume that would require more programming effort than it's worth, or they would already be there?

Yes.

Also if they were delimited with commas like the data files they could be easily copied and pasted.

There was a reason for the space delimiters, but I can't remember what it was. Probably to avoid the issues caused by decimal commas and semicolon separators.

It would introduce scope for things to go wrong, particularly when the files were manually edited, and thus increasing the amount of time I and others spend on the forum sorting out issues.

Understand. We want to avoid a cascade failure from a single change. I should be able to work with the existing formats.

Separately, Windows 10 supports a CUMULUS reboot in the Start folder! Windows 7 didn't on my machine. They have been pushing Windows 10 updates like crazy the past month.

I do notice however a higher frequency of NULL records in the DAYFILES. Your red Error indicator is very helpful and Notepad++ is a clean way to handle large files. I am not sure what is causing the NULL records. It may well be the Windows 10 push to shutdown/restart is causing a CUMULUS "panic write" to DAYFILES? I think I will change Windows 10 back to manual restart for updates like I did for Windows 7.

Is there any way to use two lines for each header so you can tell what the header actually says? There already is two color lines as the header.
