Longest wet/dry periods

Post by hungerdunger »

At midnight tonight Cumulus will set a new record for the longest period of consecutive wet days.

I've been using Cumulus since January 2009, and I'm pretty sure this particular statistic didn't become available for some time after that. Can anyone tell me roughly when it was introduced?

Sorry I can't recall but you could look in https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=2 and check the various 'release' versions where Steve has included the changes in that release.

It was introduced in 1.9.2, in the beta build 1008 on Aug 23 2011, which became the release version on Oct 05 2011.

Thanks Steve (and PaulMy).

My new record is 19 consecutive wet days. Just out of interest can anyone beat this since August 2011? Perhaps I should limit this to the UK as I'm sure there must be other parts of the world where 19 days is considered normal.

We are also currently in a spell of 19 consecutive wet days. My longest wet period is 50 days, ending on 14th January this year.

I have had 24 consecutive wet days up to yesterday.
That will be a current record because today has been dry.

I'm sure Orkney is very lovely, but I really think that amount of wetness would be too depressing for me.
