Does MX have ftp uploads same as Cumulus 1?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Does MX have ftp uploads same as Cumulus 1?

Post by MikeLempriere »

Hi all - sorry to ask such a basic-ass question, but... I've been going through the wiki and forum for about 2 hours and have not found a "features list" or configuration screen shots for MX.

I've been using Cumulus 1 (C1) since 2012. I have a handful of weather stations uploading data to a server of my own, where I have custom software that evaluates the data, predicts Powdery Mildew growth, and alerts the station owner via SMS message when it's time to spray their vineyard.

My question is simply: does MX have all the same ftp upload as C1 did?

I only require the monthly logfile, e.g. "Dec20log.txt" file. I parse it hourly for temp, rain, etc. for the current values. I don't need real-time.

Additionally I also use a custom filename which I just basically pack with tags like battery status and error status so that I can parse and do SMS alerts on those events as well.

Again, I apologize for asking such a trivial question, but I don't want to break an existing installation in order to find this out.

Hi,

Yes CumulusMX does the same FTP. www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/index.htm www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/index.php
The Charts/Graphs are different in CumulusMX.
CumulusMX has some added fields in the dayfile and monthly log files and C1 files are compatible with MX.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks PaulMy - for my new single-station installs I'll recommend they start with MX.

In MX you would just add the monthly log file as an extra file, no processing and define the destination. You probably know, but don't forget you can use the special text <currentlogfile> to define the current log file so you do not have to change the entry every month.

I notice that profile says "Win XP SP3" so I thought I better point out Cumulus MX does not run on Windows XP as is does not support the right level of .NET.
