Hi folks,
I've carried out a clean install of b3021, and I get spurious rainfall data - odd when it's not raining.
VP2 attached to tcp stream that is shared with Cumulus 1.9.4 - which shows no rain.
System started from ~11am today, and I'll leave it overnight. Not sure why the month and day values are different ?
Cheers,
Brian

Could you also explain a bit more what you mean by "VP2 attached to tcp stream that is shared with Cumulus 1.9.4"?

Hi Steve, steve wrote:Could you also explain a bit more what you mean by "VP2 attached to tcp stream that is shared with Cumulus 1.9.4"?
The VP2 console is installed onto a windows 7 netbook, it runs Eterlogic Virtual Serial Ports Emulator.
Cumulus 194 is installed directly on the netbook.
The 'console' port is split to allow my currently live system (1.9.4) to report to Wunderground.
MX is installed and running on a remote linux box via mono. It connects to the VP2 console via a tcp stream instead of a COM port.
Hope that makes sense, and doesn't break VP2 usage rules!
Thanks,
Brian

A VP2 can't cater for more than one program talking to it at the same time. To connect more than one program, you have to have some 'intelligence' which understands the protocol, like Virtual VP (although that brings with it other issues) to manage the multiple connections.

Fixed and CMX switched to sole use of COM3 - Rain Gauge issue resolved, thanks...steve wrote:A VP2 can't cater for more than one program talking to it at the same time.
