[Implemented] v4 AWEKAS upload format
Just noticed Boris added this new v4 upload format to the latest beta build of Meteobridge. Just thought I'd mention this here for CumulusMX too.

Re: v4 AWEKAS upload format
I had a quick look but it looks like the AWEKAS direct upload API is secret for some reason? At any rate I cannot find it published anywhere.

Can you please write me a Email. The API is not public and i do not post it in forum.
Note: Current conditions should be reported by human and not calculated.

Re: v4 AWEKAS upload format
Still a bit odd though, as soon as MX implements the API (same with weeWX etc) it is visible to everyone through their open source, as the v2 API is now
So why not just make it public like virtually every other weather API?
Build in security to the API itself as Davis have done very well in their WeatherLink v2 API, with hashed content using a per user secret key in addition to the normal API key.
As the old saying goes "Security by obscurity is no security at all". Security by obscurity being rejected in 1851 according Wikipedia.
Anyway, AWEKAS uploads ain't broke, so not an immediate concern.

Re: v4 AWEKAS upload format
haha famous last words...
yesterday I recieved an email my station was not reporting to AWEKAS. couldnt figure it out. MB does my online services for now. anyway posted in the MB forums and others where having the same problem. two of us tried CumulusMX which also was broken. so no uploads from two different programs.
turned out data.awekas.at went down but ws.awekas.at stayed up. it was broken for about 3 hours apparently.

Re: v4 AWEKAS upload format
Ha, coincidences!
Anyway, I have the v4 API documentation now - I'll take a look at it and see if it worth rushing to implement.

Re: v4 AWEKAS upload format
Seems like the benefits are...
soil moisture (and temperature which was already supported before)
leaf wetness
Allowing 15 second updates for Stationsweb subscription accounts. Therefore clean-up the upload interval selection to indicate; 15 seconds for Stationsweb, 1 minute for AWEKAS Plus enabled accounts, and 5 minutes for all else. Seems like it is possible to automatically query the account and get a return of the minimum upload interval allowed.
I'd say those are the important things that jump out at me.
A bit of extra is to enable the upload of Brightness in Lux which is something that Fine Offset / Ecowitt stations have as data provided by the GW1000. AWEKAS has a graph for Lux that is different than the UV and Solar Radiation graphs.
