You should not under any circumstances allow your weather computer to go into standby especially if you have no logger.

If you do this data will not be recorded and the only way to get data in is to edit the log files which is a long tedious task!!

Can I suggest using a Raspberry Pi which can run 24/7 on low power consumption.

Your console should plug into the RPI, which in turn runs CumulusMX and publishes the data to your website in the same manner as your PC but without going on standby. The data is permanently recorded on the RPi.

I hope this helps

Hi Martial

My set up runs a Davis VP2 Plus which passes data via a MeteoPi to a Raspberry Pi v4 with a RPi branded power supply. The RPi is housed in a metal ArgonOne M.2 case to help keep the temperature down .

I use a Transend 128GB M.2 memory store rather than the usual Micro SD card but that is my choice for an even faster RPi. For a background backup a USB flash drive plugs into the RPi.

The RPi works to record the data through CMX on a 24/7 basis and uses much less power than a full sized PC. My web site runs from the RPi and is hosted by HostPresto and based on the CumulusUtils flavour of software.

With regard to costs the following are the costs rough costs over the past year, I could not guess as to the cost in France.
RPi V4 £50
RPi power supply £13
ArgonOne M.2 Case £42
Transcend M.2 128Gb memory £30
USB 32Gb flash drive £4
Micro SD 32Gb card £4
MeteoPi £90

I hope this helps in your thought process, for me this is the result of a couple of years trial and error and actually the time spent getting it all working has been time well spent as I have learnt plenty.
