Cumulus MX on new PC

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Cumulus MX on new PC

Post by Dennisdg »

Just gone over to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
I copied my Cumulus folder containing all my data, web pages etc.
Cumulus MX V3.1.2 3055 is running as expected.
However when CumulusMX is started the command prompt showns 'Downloading Archive Data, Processed 100%' twice. Then Normal Running.
I don't remember seeing this being repeated before. Is this normal?

The log file shows that Cumulus was trying to read archive data but each attempt just received "Ignoring old archive data". Then after 40 seconds you killed the run without actually having properly started receiving current readings.

I'm not sure, but I think this is reading recent [18 Sep 2019] archives from your weather station, not from Cumulus own files?

Early on it says there will be 513 pages, but you Ctrl-C after only 177 pages.

I'd be inclined to let it run on until it gets properly started with current data (rather than archive). At the rate it was going, it should be finished in about 2 minutes.

When did you last run Cumulus on the previous machine? If you've copied all the data across, is the new machine just ignoring data from 18 Sep because the previous machine already received it and it's been stored in Cumulus already?

Hopefully, the new machine will pick up the more recent archives and will then run normally

Thanks for your thoughts.
I'll have to check when I copied over the Cumulus folder, think it was on Saturday 9th Oct in the afternoon. I'll look tomorrow.

Yes, that is normal. What is new is that I added a percentage progress to the downloads so you can see it is doing something rather than just hung.
