Ecowitt GW-1000 and Cumulus MX

Folks, anyone who has a modern Fine offset weather station that talks only to the Internet can now aqcuire a GW-1000 from Ecowitt
This is a mini weather station (without a screen) about the size of a matchbox and USB powered. It can receive data from pretty much most of the currently sold Fine offset weather sensors and allows for upload to the Internet or local servers.
One of the major bonuses of this little gizmo is that it has an API that can allow the live data to be read from the box by other locally network connected devices. Currently Meteobridge has taken up the API and so has Weather Display software. This means that these competing products to Cumulus MX can read the data from modern Fine offset sensors and process them.
The API is not currently publicly available however, though if someone who is interested in adding the code into MX to read the data packets via IP and thus make the modern Fine Offset weather stations and sensors available to MX, then I will see if I can arrange for the API to be shared with that person for development as I have a working relationship with Ecowitt/Fine Offset.
Please let me know as I would like to see MX support the latest weather sensors from Fine Offset.
These currently include PM2.5 sensors and soil moisture sensors on top of the usual.
I have an ultrasonic anemometer under test and later this year we are expecting a lightning detector.
All of these are supported through the GW-1000
