good afternoon
maybe this is already in the forum but I have not been able to find it ..
I am a user of cumulus 1.9.4 for 5 years now ..
As this version of cumulus has an expiration date, I have thought about switching to cumulus mx ..
but I'm very clumsy and I don't understand what needs to be done ..
can someone tell me step by step how to install cumulus mx?
if it were also in Spanish, it would be great ...
(my English is not very good ... google translator ...)
greetings and thanks...

Hi Polin,

First, Cumulus 1.9.4 will not be expiring after 2020. What will happen is that the Cumulus 1 menu functions that have pull-down menus showing years, such as [View] [This year] will continue to show years to 2020 in the drop-down, but not past year 2020

CumulsMX is quite easy to install.
1. Download and unzip - i.e. to C:\CumulusMX
2. Stop Cumulus 1
3. Copy the full Cumulus 1 C:\Cumulus\data folder to \CumulusMX\
4. Copy the Cumulus 1 C:\Cumulus\cumulus.ini to C:\CumulusMX\Cumulus.ini (note the Cumulus name change with a capital C)

That's it, unless you've done customization, then
Copy in any modified or edited files from C:\Cumulus\web\ to C:\CumulusMX\web\
And if you use customized webtags that use date/time there have been some changes in that between Cumulus 1 and CumulusMX that you would need to edit.

To run CumulkusMX go to your C:\CumulusMX and right click on CumulusMX.exe and Run as administrator. The DOS startup screen will display and you will leave it running.
Open a new browser and enter http://*:8998 using your computer IP address instead of * so something like http://192.0.0.13:8998
Give it a little while for the dashboard to populate and then you can view, change settings, etc.

If you just want to experiment with MX you can stop CumulusMX (press Ctrl C at the CumulusMX DOS screen) and then run Cumulus 1 again.

Enjoy,
Paul

first, thanks for the quick response ..

Of course, the problem is that all reports, graphics, ... will be disabled after 2020 ..

Not sure about that. The [View] [Graphs] are not date coded and I believe that is what is updated in the web files, and the [View] [Select-A-Graph] date picker goes beyond 2020.

Enjoy,
Paul

Do you think then that it has no expiration date?
I really like 1.9.4, both the way of treating the data and the interface ..

On the other hand, I get to boot MX, but it doesn't take the data from the station
when running mx.exe, the DOS window says that it recognizes the station and everything works correctly, but when opening the browser it is without receiving data
Thank you..

Where does the 2020 limit that appears in the rest of the reports come from?

There are other threads here on the forum that better describe the limitation of Cumulus 1.

On your CumulusMX issue, can you look at the lMXdiags file to see what it shows, or zip and attach.

Enjoy,
Paul

looks like it's starting & connection to the station from that log.

Is it the interface you cant get to?

Have you tried typing http://localhost:8998 into the address bar of the browser?

Glad you have it working so you can play around with it.

In the future when you have an issue it is good to click (turn on) the Debug and Data logging in the Station settings Options as that will give additional information to troubleshoot.

Enjoy,
Paul

...not forgetting to restart MX when you have done this.
