CuMX - Weather underground chart refresh rate

I am running Cumulus MX 3049 on a Raspberry Pi3 B+ and everything looks to be OK now however one thing I have been thinking about is the refresh rate of the daily charts that can be selected from within Temperature, Wind and Rainfall. They currently seem to update every 60 minutes however yesterday it stretched out to closer to 4 hours and they only updated after I restarted Cumulus MX. Is it possible to change this frequency to something like 15 minutes?

OK, please ignore most of my first post as it seems to be updating in a timely manner now, although I do wonder why it did nothing for a few hours yesterday.

Anything on Weather Underground seems to be very unreliable since they embarked on their latest updates.

I ust noticed it had done it again, a restart of Cumulus MX brings down the latest data.

Guessing here, but the error seems to be generated when the (WU) server does not return what the http client is expecting. Unfortunately the error is pretty generic.

If you switch on debug logging we can check that the URLs are properly formed. You are updating once a minute, it may be worth trying backing off the interval and see if that improves matters. I upload every 5 minutes and am not seen any errors since I started MX 17 days ago.

Puzzled why WU stops updating as MX is still getting success returned to updates - have you checked on the WU web site itself?

Also MX isn't doing a catch-up when you restart it, so it isn't uploading "missing" data when it restarts.

You only posted one file instead of the folder, so I'm having to guess things.

I have enabled debug logging and will keep an eye on it and see if it faults again.

Thank you

Well it took a while for me to spot anything after I enabled the logging and when it did fail it did this which is probably unrelated however I have added it to this thread along with the log files.

Are you looking at the web page on the same computer as Cumulus is running? Its looking like a problem with the web template rather than Cumulus to me.

You are still getting lots of error responses from WU, and there is no debug logging switched on.

Can you post a link to the web page when it goes wrong please.

Hi Chapel,
I think it is a problem at Weather Underground, because my charts are not working at the moment as well. But they was working yesterday when I looked at mine.

The charts for Ken's HWS template version come from Weather Underground and basically nothing to to with Cumulus except for Cumulus regular WU updating. Mine are also blank now (the first time I have noticed it) http://www.komokaweather.com/pws/

I also have that same template with current data from the WiFiLogger so nothing to do with Cumulus and it is also blank now http://www.komokaweather.com/pws-wfl

However, a third version of the HWS template by Wim (Leuven templates) that is coded quite different with current conditions from Weather Underground and this has the graphs working http://www.komokaweather.com/pws-wu

This indicates to me it is either a template issue or WU issue and how the template gathers the data.

Posting in the viewforum.php?f=29 may get a look by Ken.

Enjoy,
Paul
