Alert on Rainfall over time

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Alert on Rainfall over time

Post by cliffnz »

Hi, Could Cumulus MX be used for providing an alert for rainfall volume? Specifically one for 15mm over a 3 day period.
I'd guess the answer would be outside of weather station software and more to do with log or database interpretation.
Anyone fielded this sort of question before?

Cheers

You're right, this isn't something that Cumulus could do itself. If you log to a database it would be a trivial query to find the answer. You would need to schedule something to run the query periodically, and send whatever alert you wanted if it returned true.
