I run CumulusMX on Windows 10 reading data from a Fine Offset (Watson W-8681 MK11) station.
After a short learning curve helped by users of this forum it runs really well and I have also got my own Web page up and running. The system has ran since 15th January 2019.
On the first day of set-up I got the station running in the house and connected to the data logger tablet. What I didn't allow for was the erroneous readings this would cause, in particular to the wind and rain sensors . Consequently I have at least three lines of data with ultra high wind and rainfall and other strange readings. I would obviously like to edit this out as I am now carrying forward some ridiculus maxima and minima.
I have read many posts about editing data but am still confused as what exactly to do to edit my data.
I know I should backup the "Data" folder in the Cumulus folder and I believe the files I need to edit are in the data folder. I also know I should use Notepad to undertake any editing.
I would prefer just to delete the two or three of lines of data in their entirety but am unsure if this is the way to proceed.
So exactly which files do I act upon and can I just delete them entirely including date, time etc ?.
Can anyone advise.
Phil

Hi Dazza,
Thanks for your interest. Just highs and lows generated by abnormal readings.

Re: Editing Data
Thanks Dazza,
I think I can see what to do now.
1. Backup Cumulus Data folder
2. Make sure Cumulus is not running.
3. Use Notepad to edit the month.ini , year.ini and alltime.ini files.
4. Replace the erroneous high and lows for wind, wind gusts, rain and wind-chill with the correct values at this point in time together with the correct timestamps.
5. Start Cumulus and check.
I'll have a go later this evening. I'd like to sort it before this month end.
Cheers, Phil
