Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Acu-Rite (aka AcuRite) Support and APRS

Post by wb2ftx »

I've been away for quite a while since my weather station died. Does the current MX build support the Acu-Rite weather stations and in particular the AcuRite 5 in 1 model since there is a holiday sale going on? Is this a Fine Offset unit or compatible?
Second question. I am an amateur radio operator, hence the WB2FTX callsign user name. My past use of the Cumulus software was for APRS use and in particular sending the data out via radio rather than via the internet to some user group although I think Weatherunderground does support sending the info to a APRS I-Gate amateur radio station and then into the internet to whomever might want it. The radio route for APRS uses a specified text based format for reporting the data from the weather station/software. Cumulus 1 did generate this text file and I can supply the format if necessary.

Does anyone know if the current Cumulus MX build generates anything like this?

email response if you can help wb2ftx@optonline.net

As far as can see this is not supported in either version of Cumulus and the Wiki confirms this.

It would seem that in order to get your data to a computer etc. you have to have one of these https://www.acurite.com/access-my-acuri ... oring.html and even then it is one of those stations that only uploads to Weather Underground.
