Forecast Problems

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Forecast Problems

Post by Albert Dulfer »

Since doing a clean install of the latest version (Version 3043) I have not been able to get the forecast to work on my home page. On the gauges page the cloud base keeps defaulting to feet (from metres). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your forecast is showing ", stormy, much rain" so I think you are using custom forecast strings, which may be your problem. Otherwise, perhaps you need to adjust the pressure extremes - wrong units, perhaps?

I selected metres for your cloud base gauge, and it shows metres every time I return to the page. Perhaps you have some kind of cookie problem with your browser, you could try deleting them.

Hi Steve

Adjusted extremes for pressure, forecast now seems to be OK. Deleted cookies but still have a problem with cloud base units. Would welcome any further suggestions.

Hi Steve.

I have been using Microsoft Edge as my default browser. When I switch to Internet Explorer, the problem disappears. A mystery!

Hi Steve

I am completely lost with this problem. I even reinstalled windows, but to no avail. I have attached a copy of my ini file. If you have a chance to look at it and see if there is anything amiss here, could you please let me know?

Sorry, which problem? I thought you had resolved the forecast issue, and determined that your cloud base unit issue was a problem with Edge? I don't know what to look for in the Cumulus.ini file.

Hi Steve

On further examination of the ini file, I notice the setting

CloudBaseInFeet=1

Is this correct?

CloudBaseInFeet=1
This means show the Cloud Base dial in feet as default. Also Cumulus .ini file is used for the settings of your local Cumulus MX console accessed through a local browser not the Cumulus website where the settings will be in gauges.js.

Which do you mean?
