Easyweather.dat Browse For File

Post by sperry russ »

I am using MX 3038. In Cumulus1 in the station settings there is the option to choose Easyweather for the station. Then near the bottom of the Station settings there is a place to choose where the Easyweather.dat file is.

I find the place in CumulusMX to choose Easyweather as the station. But, I do not see any place to choose where the Easyweather.dat file is.

Where is that setting at?

You currently need to edit Cumulus.ini before you start MX and change the EWFile= line.

Thanks for your help Steve. While searching for info about the Easyweather.dat file I see where you are discouraging its use.

I am experimenting with some generic home built/DIY stations and found that is the only way to use them with Cumulus.

I also found this post where you talked about in the future adding support for Generic stations.

When do you think that would ever happen?

It's impossible to say; I have so much to do already just to bring MX up to the same set of features as Cumulus 1, and not a lot of spare time available for actually writing code.
