Access through Windows Firewall

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Access through Windows Firewall

Post by coercri »

I have a problem where I cannot get access to Cumulus MX from another computer in my network. I know the problem is the Windows (7) firewall as when I turn off the firewall I have access. I have allowed Cumulus access through it (and checked - it is ticked in allowed programs), but still cannot get it to work.

I have port forwarded to the computer with Cumulus MX on, but still now joy.

Is there any other tips that I could try? Do I have to give .net framework access? If so , how?

Thanks in advance.

What can't you access - the web interface at all? What ports have you allowed for MX? By default, it needs 8998 for the http browser interface, and 8002 for web sockets (unless you choose to use Ajax instead).

And what did you do to fix it, I have the same problem.

Got it!

Had to create an inbound rule to allow TCP port 8998 and a second rule to allow TCP 8002 through the firewall on my Windows Server 2012R2 server. CumulusMX.exe is running as a service btw.

All working now.
