Twitter timer

If I set MX (build 3036) to Tweet in intervals of 1 (assuming minutes) it will Tweet.

I want to tweet every six hours so set the interval to 360 but it never tweets.

I'll start experimenting with the number to see if I can find a fail point, however is anyone else using auto tweet in MX with a longer interval?

FWIW I have mine set at 120 and has been/is working fine. (on MX)

Do you ever close MX down? Any 'non-synchronised' interval for any Cumulus action first takes place at the configured interval from when Cumulus started. A 'synchronised' interval is an interval in minutes which is a factor of 60.

I hope to add a more sophisticated scheduling mechanism eventually, so for example you could schedule updates every six hours on the clock - 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 etc - perhaps that's what you were expecting with your 6 hour interval?

I haven't shut down MX in several days. I will restart it and see what happens for the 360

Assuming you have debug logging on, there should be messages about updating Twitter in the diags file, and any errors logged in there anyway.

There was nothing in the standard logging. I've turned on debugging and I set the interval for Twitter to five mins -- which worked. I've now set it to 360 and will report back tomorrow.

FYI : MX has not been restarted since 31 Dec

Nothing in the debugging logs either.

It Tweeted at 7:45pm last night then nothing after that. I'd have expected something around 1:45am and 7:45am. I've searched the log file and there's no mention of 'Twitter' after 7:45pm.

It's almost as if Cumulus forgets/resets the timer at some point. :o

It definitely doesn't do that. Having changed the interval to 360, did you restart MX? Some settings changes currently require that.

No, I never needed to restart when I was changing the interval from 1, 5, 10 etc. I will restart it now and see how it goes.

Changing from a 'synchronised' value to a non-synchronised value will currently require a restart, to start the timer.

Just to finish off the thread....I'm delighted to report that my 360 minutes interval does work if I restart Cumulus.
