I am having trouble getting my WMR-928 console to show on Cumulus MX.
I'm using just a cheap Serial to USB adapter (same as below)
on a Powered USB Hub.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-TO-RS ... 5d4e74f15a
I'm guessing i need some kind of driver for the Pi to run this adapter? or has CumulusMX got this built in.
The interface of CumulusMX does look great and is much more user friendly than previous versions once setup
Thanks in advance.

You can add a serial port to your Pi with this :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAX3232-RS232 ... 3a9b71f8f2
Also see here :- http://www.davidhunt.ie/add-a-9-pin-ser ... 0-minutes/
I have ordered one but not arrived yet so do not know if it works with WMR 928 but worth a try for 99p.
Have fun.

Yes, you will need a driver for the device so that it shows up as a serial port. For some adapters, the drivers may be built in (to the operating system). Does a serial port get created when you plug it in? Does 'dmesg' show it being connected? What are you putting for the serial port name, and how did you decide what to put?2e0rdj wrote:I'm guessing i need some kind of driver for the Pi to run this adapter?

The settings screen asks for serial port name, not a number. It looks like yours might be /dev/ttyUSB02e0rdj wrote:im guessing port number is 0?

Re: WMR-928 Via Serial to USB on Raspberry Pi
THANK YOU its working.
Running on my raspberry Pi Model B (256mb)
Its now also feeding back to APRS / CWOP - http://aprs.fi/#!call=a%2F2E0RDJ-WX&tim ... &tail=3600
will leave it running for a few days before allowing it the FTP, WOW, Twitter and Wunderground.
Excellent Work on the development Steve
