sftp?

Post by Smithee »

I really like the new version, i have it up and running via Virtual VP (alongside the previous Cumulus) and all is good.

One thing i cant get working is the upload to the server - our main site is using SFTP so just wondering if thats supported? On the previous cumulus i upload directly to a mapped drive as we run our own servers but i cant work out how to do the same in MX...

Andy, you should be able to use the same mapped drive if you running under Windows? I am processing and copy files locally with MX as my web server is hosted on the same server. I just copied over the Cumulus.ini that already had the file paths in it.

I'm struggling a bit - I am setting up a new server to run the output from MX (to finally get it away from the current piece meal approach i have) - so this is on a remote server with SFTP only access due to various University security rules.

Its not currently uploading so the only thing i can guess is that sftp is not supported at the moment?

The aim to begin with is to provide the same functionality as in Cumulus 1. So other than the cross-platform support and the separation of the interface, you won't find any features in MX that aren't in Cumulus 1 for some time yet.

The FTP client library I am using does not do SFTP, so I would need to look for something else before MX can support SFTP. This looks promising.
