Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

realtime.txt

Post by water01 »

I think that I may have found a problem with realtime.txt in MX compared to Cumulus 1.

I think Cumulus 1 always put a CR/LF at the end of the realtime.txt line, whereas the Cumulus MX doesn't which means if you are combining it in a file instead of getting each line separately you just get a continuous line of data.

Could be wrong but that is what it looks like.

Yes, that's right. If it's an issue I could look at adding the newline.

It is an issue when you are building a file for the Near Realtime Data graph that Mark designed using Highcharts as the input file is built by running a DOS bat file that appends realtime.txt to the log file every minute and without the newline the file is in the incorrect format.

I think also that Cumulus Toolbox assumes a newline is present and most tools designed to work with realtime.txt assume it.

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere but I stopped build 3002 updated to 3003 and suddenly realtime.txt is not updating on the 30Sec interval.

So stopped MX checked cumulus.ini and the realtimetxtftp parameter had been set to zero. So I set it 1 and reloaded and uploads are now happening on the 30sec mark. Did it this way as I could not find anything saying you had fixed WU and WOW updating after a Settings save, so all is now working again.

Minor problem, easily fixed and wow I am still impressed. MX ran continuously for 7 hours without a hitch before the update.

Problem is I deliberately didn't enter Settings as I knew there is/was a problem with WU and WOW updates if I did, so it either did on load or for some other reason.

It's the one about null items being corrupted. I described the problem rather than the symptoms (I think I did mention what the problem was).

OK thanks Steve.

I am now going to leave MX live, doesn't seem any point in switching back as it is so stable!! This is more like final release than Beta!!

ReatimeTxtFTP being unset by changing settings appears to have been fixed in 3004
