Hi Jacques,
I'm going to use the Weather Eden template (congratulations for the result of all the work you have done). I would like to have it in the language that is not on the list of available languages.
This is "cassubian" language which is the language of the cassubian ethnic minority living in Poland and I have prepared the translation and there is some correction in progress (temporary I named the file "text_standard_ka.php"- will you be using "ka" as the language code for any other language?).
I do not want it to be one of official languages unless I check it works properly. By the way, are you interested to have such language officially available?
WHAT SHOULD I DO (except to put the file in the "lang" folder) in order to have it available?
The day when I have learned something is not the lost one.

Hi pernaczy,

Sorry that you didn't find post about translation before!
Full simple page-by-page translation facilities are available on this link.

To be inserted to the language selector list, you have to copy
your new file (eg wt_standard_ka.php) in folder lang, then, go to
your Template Manager Module (this rebuild available languages list)

But, to use your language at default, you should modify your pages
and change default language as this:

$lang = 'en'; // Default language (to change from 'en' to 'ka')

That way, cassubian will be the default language and english stay
as the 'fall-back' language

Finally, if you have some spare time to see the site; they are
15 languages done by The Cumulus Translators Team! :D

Best Regards,
Jacques

Only comment is the wrong spelling of "batter status" should be "battery status" on "system.php "page.

Well done Jacques :D !
When you hover over the wind bearing gauge it shows the UV index graph?
If I remember correctly it does not work on Jacques demo page either, shows a small rectangle.

All the others seem ok...

Thank you Jacques,
I've seen earlier the post about translation but I just wanted to try how my translation works and as I said, cassubian is not national language.

Hi Jacgues,

1. I did as you told me to do but it didn't work. I have wt_standard_ka.php file in lang folder both on my PC and on the web site. I went to Template Manager Nodule (TMM) and there was no my
file with cassubian language visible. I did almost all updates via TMM (there was greek language to be uploaded) - and some still to be done. Cassubian language IS NOT on the available
languages list.
2. When I changed default language to "ka" (I did it only on index.php page) it works, this page is opening with default language "cassubian".
So, WHAT I AM SUPOSE TO DO to have cassubian available on the languages list?.

Best Regards,
Piotr

Hi Jacques,
Sorry for saying wrong in my previous post (I just did not check all options).
Cassubian language IS AVAILABLE but its name is not visible on the list of languages. There is just EMPTY line at the very top of the list. When you click on this empty line language is changing into cassubian. How to get this name visible?

Piotr

Hi,
I'm using Weather Eden and I'm very happy of it. Now I decided to add something new to my web page and I tried to use an "empty.php" file prepared by Jacques.
I have very limited knowledge on html and php (to learn is a long lasting process).
So, I have added some elements to the sidebar this result you can see here: http://www.pogoda-niesiolowice.kaszuby.pl/satelite.php
Then I put some elements to the main page content and the result you can see here: http://www.pogoda-niesiolowice.kaszuby.pl/empty.php

QUESTION: Could someone check the source of this page and tell me HOW TO GET THE SIDEBAR BACK ON ITS PLACE? Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Piotr

Hi Piotr,

When using Empty.php file as base page, check to see comment:

<!-- This place is for your main page content -->

... there is where you have to put your new center page!

Hi Jacques,
I though that I was doing exactly what you have said. I put the code for those two forecasts pictures in the right place (instead of empty lines you have left in your empty.php file), see attachment.

Best Regards,
Piotr
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Piotr,

In your empty.php file, there is 2 ending </div> to add to your
code, just before this line:

<!-- This is the sidebar at the right side -->

Also, for these 2 pages, you could use other less strict doctype.
To do so, change doctype line with this one:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

These will probably not solve all, but a way to going to. Your page having
many errors, I suggest to validate your page with Official validator

Often when we use "ready made" stuff from other "services", there is usually
some tweaking to do as they use often the "good old way".

Best regards,
Jacques

Hi,Jacques,
I have followed all your advices and the Sidebar is back now. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
And after using an"Official validator" I have now much stronger will to learn both html and php. It's going to take time (and probably I will be forced to ask for help many times) but I will do this.

Best Regars,
Piotr
