Console Files Won't Upload

Post by scottbob78 »

My console files are not being uploaded to my web host via Cumulus. The settings are as described by the template creator. What am I doing wrong?

According to this page: http://www.freehostingcloud.com/knowled ... a-FTP.html the name of the folder containing your web site pages is 'public_html', not 'html'. But as that's a symbolic link, it's probably safer to use 'kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html', which is apparently what that link references. Note also that any files without 'realtime' ticked won't get uploaded automatically unless you tick 'Auto update'.

I realize that the hosting site states a certain directory, but for me the public directory is actually kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html. I made some changes and have the majority of the site up and running http://kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/index.htm, but now I can't get my system, infos, photos, and webcam pages to upload to the directory as the web template designer instructs. I also don't see the real-time data as active on my gauges page.

Hi Scott,

Sadly, not all providers are cofigured the same!
Do you have checked if your missing pages are not copied elsewhere
in your site? A thing to try also is only to specify directory /html in your
Cumulus configuration page( with "/" as start).

Also, I'm suprised that you don't have to specify ftp. before
kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com in host name box.

Those path are so syntax specific sometime, you would have to try many variants.

Regards,
Jacques

The path looks correct to me now, but for some reason realtime ftp isn't succeeding. Turn on ftp logging, leave it for a couple of minutes, and then upload the realtimeftplog.txt file.

Okay, so when I am attempting to upload the system.htm file and let Cumulus process it, it is converting it to system.htmtmp and that is where the hangup seems to be. This file and the realtime.txt file are not be automatically uploaded to my site. I just noticed that my graphs aren't uploading either. http://kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/trends.htm

You keep changing your settings, it's very hard to keep up.

It looks like you are using the "html" path again for the system.htm file:

22:30:06:437 FTP Command: STOR html/system.htmtmp
22:30:06:437 02E669C0 TriggerDataSent 1812
22:30:06:437 02E662B0 TriggerDataSent 988
22:30:06:484 FTP Response: 550 html/system.htmtmp: No such file or directory
22:30:06:484 >|550 html/system.htmtmp: No such file or directory|

The server correctly says that doesn't exist.

22:30:07:343 Changing directory to html
22:30:07:343 FTP Command: CWD html
22:30:07:343 02E662B0 TriggerDataSent 988
22:30:07:375 FTP Response: 550 html: No such file or directory
22:30:07:375 >|550 html: No such file or directory|

But when you use "kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html" for the path, the server also says that doesn't exist, and according to the documentation I found, that should have been the correct path. So you need to work out what the correct path actually is.

22:36:42:906 Changing directory to kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html
22:36:42:906 FTP Command: CWD kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html
22:36:42:906 02E662B0 TriggerDataSent 1304
22:36:42:953 FTP Response: 550 kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html: No such file or directory
22:36:42:953 >|550 kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/html: No such file or directory|

You don't appear to have an 'images' folder, which is why you don't get any graphs etc. http://kctwolco2.freehostingcloud.com/images gives a 'not found'.

I know that the FTP log says one thing, but those folders (/html and /html/images) do exist and I am able to upload to them via Filezilla using the exact same settings for server and directory. I believe I also denied access to folders, so that may be why you can't access my images folder via web browser. It seems like my Cumulus software is having problems when it tries to upload. Thanks for your help.

I think that the only way I am going to be able to help any further will be for you to send me your ftp details by private message, if you're prepared to do that. I'd need to upload some test pages, so your site would look a bit odd for a while.
