WU Forecast showing km/h not mph?

Post by William Grimsley »

Hi Ken,

I have read that in the WU Forecast part of the script you can't change the WU units from km/h to mph but is there another script I can use just to get mph? I don't want the community to feel that they don't know what the wind speed is because we don't use mph here in the UK anymore! :bash:

Please help,

Kind regards

Will

Ah, I'll have a look in Settings.php and Settings-weather.php :D

EDIT: No luck, I looked in WU-forecast.php and Settings-language.php Also, that link is configuring the site not the forecast units. :(

In that case you'll have to wait till Ken wakes up.

Alas, WU only provides two unit settings for the forecast - either metric with C and km/h or english with F and mph .. no mix/match available. If you change to get mph, then your temperatures will be in Fahrenheit.

Sorry.. it's a WU thing.

Hi Ken,

No worries, is there any chance WU might release a fix for C and mph?

Thanks

Highly unlikely for WU to offer this C and mph option.

So, how do I get a forecast script that shows mph and C?

Sadly, you don't. As the Rolling Stones song says "You can't always get what you want..."

So, I'll have to just live with it or put in a metoffice widget? Oh, that's so annoying  I wish the UK didn't change to mph now. :bash:
