UV Forecast

Post by water01 »

I use the UV Forecast available here http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts-UVf ... hp#UVworld

There seems to be a problem with the http://www.temis.nl site as it is taking an age to respond and cosequently the code is returning blank or NONE results.

There is a link on the code page http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts-UVf ... hp#UVworld and if you click on this the site eventually responds but it takes 3 or 4 minutes so my guess is the script is timing out.

Some time ago I had the same problem which is discussed here.
There seem to be irregular response problems with temis.nl. You can take it out of the main page or simply live with it. Now and again performance of temis is really bad. I never got a reply from them when asked. Neither directly neither through the KNMI (which acts as front end if I understood it well).

Thank you. Did you notice that if there is no response, a zero length uv-forecast.txt file gets written rather than leave a valid file in place, allbeit one missing some results.

Just a note for anyone who uses the UV Forecast from Saratoga-Weather.org (http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts-UVforecast.php) it was updated on the 12th February to take account of a change to https at www.temis.nl (Version 1.09 - 12-Feb-2021 - use https to access www.temis.nl site).

I wondered why I wasn't getting any UV readings !! :D
