Dark Sky Forecast

Post by Mapantz »

I have noticed that the current conditions on the darksky forecast are not using the night icons any more, it always uses the day icons.

"Partly Cloudy","icon":"partly-cloudy-day"

I'm not sure if it's an API change their end?

I think it's an API tweak on their end. Since they only return a forecast for a full-day (no day/night periods), they may have decided that the 'partly-cloudy-day' icon was also to be used in the conditions area even when it's nightime.

I do note you're running an older version (V1.05) and there have been updates:
Version 1.09 - 23-Jan-2019 added hourly forecast and tabbed display (DS-forecast-lang.php V1.06 required)
Version 1.08 - 15-Jan-2019 added check for good JSON return before saving cache file
Version 1.07 - 10-Jan-2019 DS-forecast-lang.php V1.05 updated with missing Danish translation for 'snow'
Version 1.07 - 07-Jan-2019 fixed minor formatting issue with Hebrew in Saratoga template
Version 1.06 - 05-Jan-2019 fixed Hebrew language display when used in Saratoga template
Version 1.05 - 08-Dec-2018 added optional current conditions display box, cloud-cover now used for better icon choices
V1.09 is the current release, but it doesn't address the day-icon used for conditions at night issue.

I've downloaded the new one, Ken. I'll implement it to my web page later.

The 'night' icons are back working again, so I assume a bug crept in to their api. :)
