Ken,
I see on your website (http://saratoga-weather.org/bloomsky.php) that you have a neat weather camera setup called Bloomsky. What is involved with setting up a Bloomsky such as you have on your website? I see that I can purchase the Solar Powered Weather Kit + Solar Panel for $189.00 (http://shop.bloomsky.com/products-list/ ... er-station). So, needless to say, this has caught my attention, especially when the offer is only good until July 4th.

Re: Bloomsky Device
It was a simple setup. Use a smartphone with the bloomsky app, register with bloomsky.com, use the app with your registration to hook the device to your wifi and then put the device and solar panel in a good place for sun and sky view.
Once connected to your wifi, it will begin sending sky photos and weather data to the bloomsky website. Their site will create a daily time lapse video.
You can pull your data from their site using a developer API key from your registration account. I use a php script developed by Wim, author of the Leuven template.
As a weather station, the bloomsky is missing key sensors: wind direction and speed, and rain quantity ,so it makes a fine sky cam, but not a complete weather station.

Re: Bloomsky Device
What I have been looking for is to have a weather camera for a long time, but they are expensive and it seems like most need a cable connection to the PC. I was hoping this Bloomsky would work with my PC and the Cumulus/Saratoga software. I am not a smartphone person. Guess this Bloomsky is not for me then.

Re: Bloomsky Device
The BloomSky initial one time setup uses a BloomSky App which must be from a smartphone or IPad. I don't have a smart phone so borrowed my wife's IPad to set it up, very quick, just a few minutes, and then don't need to use the phone/IPad again.
As Ken mentions there are a couple of Scripts for showing the BloomSky, and also data on WU if you setup a (new) station IONTARIO1189 and add the webcam https://www.wunderground.com/webcams/PaulMy/4/show.html
Not a full blown weather station but I have been very surprised how close the data is to my Davis VP2 IONTARIO226. There have been some quality issues but seems BloomSky has/is addressed them.
Enjoying,
Paul

Re: Bloomsky Device
Well Ken and Paul, guess I will order a unit and see how it goes. Look for me coming back to ask some questions later. Yea, I know, not him again.
