Forecasts gone missing?

Post by Phlerb »

Not sure what happened. I replaced my cable modem today, and I wouldn't think this would cause an issue on my hosted site, but now both the home page forecast and the Forecast page (NWS) is not working... It has the Force Update?, but it also has all these links that don't work.

What bugaboo got into my templates???

Thanks for any ideas...

The NWS recently changed their website design, and your data URL http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... on=-72.987 was not for the Point-printable forecast, but for the main page.

Change it to http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... TextType=2

and it should work for you again :)

Best regards,
Ken

Thanks Ken!!! I made the change, and uploaded the files, and a few minutes later it was all fixed! You, sir, Rock!

Any thoughts on how to make a WU page too for Americans? It just seems to be more accurate in my area for forecasts....

Would love to have a WU page and a NWS page, or maybe a side to side page, NWS left, and WU right?

Like this? http://komokaweather.com/komokaweather- ... recast.php which I added to my Base-Canada template set so I have both Environment Canada and WU forecasts.

I just downloaded the WU-forecast script from the Base-World set and added that and you should be able to do the same.

Enjoy,
Paul

I grabbed the script, but I have 2 issues.
The first is that it is displaying in it's own page, ie without the the normal header and flyout menus
2nd is that I can't get it to display Jericho, VT. It only wants to show Aarhus, even though I have removed all links with that name....

Thanks for any assistance.

When you run the script by itself (i.e. WU-forecast.php) it only uses the settings that are inside the script itself, and displays in it's own page (as designed).

To use it in a Saratoga template (i.e. wxforecast.php ), it configures itself using the values in your Settings.php and displays within the template page if the default forecast is set up to be by 'WU'. Your site (in the US) is configured to use the advforecast2.php script for providing forecasts from weather.gov (NOAA). It can be somewhat tricky to have both NOAA and WU forecasts appear on the same site due to the autoconfiguration in the templates.

Ken

Thanks for the update Ken.. I would like to have both the NOAA and the WU forcasts, and it seems it should be possible from what I see at PaulMy's site, but I don't have the chops to make it work.
