Beta 1.9.4 #1067 - BearingRangeFrom10/To10 broken?

Post by mcrossley »

Steve

I upgraded to build 1067 yesterday, I notice this morning that the <#BearingRangeFrom10> and 'To10' tags have stuck, both now reading "290", when the wind is actually from the East.

I 'think' it was working directly after I started #1067, but can't be certain.

Update: It isn't stuck. It is started showing 320-310, now widening out, currently 320-230.

The actual tags are the BearingRangeFrom10

Looks like Cumulus was indicating a full circle when I first looked - I've never had that before, is that a valid state? Can't get my head around it at the mo!

290 would be the opposite of the then average direction.

OK, I have figured it out (slow this morning), the difference is my switch to the VP2 from FO. The FO could not get into that state given its low direction resolution, but the VP2 reporting direction in degrees obviously can.

I need to amend the gauges code to check for the situation where (from=to && from!=avg) which indicates a full 360° variability, as opposed to the current check where if (from-to < 60) = 'steady'

I think it's valid if your wind vane has been moving around a lot recently, i.e through 360 degrees.

Edit: That was a reply to your previous post; I think we agree based on your latest post.
