Logging Disabled

Post by LAdrain »

Since upgrading to the latest beta version, I am getting Cumulus freezing with the download window open. After a few seconds the window vanishes but when I click within the Cumulus window I get an error bleep and nothing. The only thing I can do is kill the application.

I am using a WH1081 Weather Station and Windows 7.

I renamed the debug.log and reran Cumulus and got the following message :-

Cumulus debug log
0000.000 : **** Logging Disabled

I'm running the latest beta (b1053) now and it seemed to run normally [edited to clarify after Mark's comment] so not a problem with build

POST SCRIPT
I deleted the (creation date was last June when I first installed a Cumulus beta) debug.log file (leaving Cumulus running), the file was recreated, but only contained 'cumulus debug log' and does not appear to be being changed since that re-creation.

That is the normal behaviour, Cumulus creates the file at startup, but does not log to it unless debug is enabled.

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it.

What version/build were you using previously?

Now working fine with 1.9.3 build 1053.
USB was working fine and computer could see it, the software looks to not produce the window that shows it is reading data from the device.
Took a batterry out of the weather station for a sec or two then replaced it. Ran Cumulus and it started to download data. Took some time, but looks to have all the data downloaded.

Blockage looks to be due to the weatherstation.

It was the usual problem:

06/11/2012 14:28:30.838 : 14:28:30 EWUSB: Get history data
06/11/2012 14:28:30.844 : Request EW data block, addr = 000000
06/11/2012 14:28:40.853 : 14:28:40 Station not responding
