24 Hour Rain Problems

Hi Steve, & All,
I have updated to the new version of Cumulus 1011 Build 1.9.2. I have added the new webtags 24 hour rain. I think I have not but the code in right or something because they are both saying, the same thing. Like this.

Rainfall Since Midnight 0.50 in Rainfall Last 24 Hours 0.50 in

Or is it right I thought that one should be different than the other one.


Here is the new code I have added to my IndexT.htm

First, you use a midnight to midnight day, so 'rain today' and 'rain since midnight' will always be the same and you don't need to show both.

Second, in the code you've quoted, you've used the same tag twice.

Thank you for replying back to me. Yes I use the midnight rollover, Cumulus is showing both the same 0.48inches on today and last 24hours.

On my website it says 0.50inches for 24hours and rain fall today says 0.48inches
So it is strange that they are showing different.

So what should the other webtag be?

I don't understand what you're asking. According to your rain graph you have had 0.48 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. All of that has fallen today, hence "rain today" = "rain in last 24 hours" = 0.48 inches, which is what your web site is showing. What values do you think they should be showing?

I most of had problems with Firefox when I was looking at my website because when I did a refresh it said that my Rainfall Since Midnight was 0.50 in and Rainfall Last 24 Hours was 0.50 in now they both say 0.48In.

Because I am using midnight rollover and that I am using today's rain fall on my Index page so I do not need the new 24 hour ones? is that right then?

Is it for people who are using the 9:00/10:00 rollover?

The new item is the rainfall in the last 24 hours, i.e. the 24 hour period leading up to the current time, it doesn't make any difference what rollover setting you use.

So I only need one ether Rainfall Today or Rainfall Since Midnight or Rainfall Last 24 Hours in my index page?
because they all mean the same and they all give the same reading.

Not quite:

Rainfall Today = rainfall so far this meteorological day (i.e. since 0900/1000 or midnight)
Rainfall since midnight = rainfall since midnight (!) which will always be the same as Rainfall Today for you as you use a midnight start/end of meteorological day
Rainfall in last 24 hours = Rainfall in the 24 hours period up to the current time, e.g. at 3pm it's the rain that has fallen since 3pm yesterday.

In Your case (midnight rollover), you could say:

<td>Rainfall&nbsp;Today</td>
<td><#rfall>&nbsp;<#rainunit></td>

Instead of the midnight stuff - the figures in your case will be the same - It's just a case of the 'readibility' of your description.

Thank you for the Info Steve, So why is my Rainfall since midnight and Rainfall in last 24 hours both the same for e.g both say 0.50in, have I got the wrong webtag or is something else wrong with the code which I have put in?

I explained this earlier. You have had 0.50 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. All of this has fallen today. So rain in last 24 hours = rain today. Why do you think one of them is wrong? Which one?
