It's not quite so badly broken now, but is still very slow (whereas the forum seems pretty much OK now).

Apparently, MediaWiki is known to be slow, inefficient, and a memory hog, and it's not really suitable for shared hosting. Dreamhost have told me on a number of occasions that the process keeps getting killed for using too much memory.

So, if there are any MediaWiki experts in the house, or anyone has any brilliant suggestions, please do get in touch, either by PM or by starting a thread in the forum, if discussion would be useful.
