Re: Overlay Weather Data with Cumulus and Yawcam..HELP!

Post by sbuckler »

After reading the threads about overlay, it seemed pretty simple to set up. I cannot get Cumulus to update the remote file. This is what I've done:
Created text file in notepad named temperatureT.txt containing the following:

Temperature: <#temp> F Wind: <#currentwdir> at <#wspeed> mph Gust: <#wgust> mph Pressure: <#press> in. <#presstrendenglish>

Placed the file in C:\Cumulus\web

In Internet Settings, local filename=C:\Cumulus\web\temperatureT.txt

Remote filename=C:\Users\Stan\Documents\{temperature}.txt (for testing only)

Ideally, I want the remote file location to be \\Workshop\c\Users\Stan\.yawcam\extravars\{temperature}.txt, the network pc where Yawcam is running.

Cumulus is creating the file temperatureT.txttmp and the contents are correct:
Temperature: 37.5 F Wind: W at 9 mph Gust: 20 mph Pressure: 29.599 in. Falling

overlay2.PNG
Am I missing something obvious?

Any help is welcome.

You've ticked 'ftp', but the file is supposed to be copied locally.

Searched the forum but could not find an answer. Is there a way to include the degree symbol in the overlay? Or any symbol for that matter.

If you put a degree symbol into the template file, it should come through into the {temperature}.txt file; I've just tried it and it works for me. I can't speak for what Yawcam will do with it.

It's possible. I'm using one in my overlay with Yawcam.
