British isles webcams

Post by weatherwatcher »

I am so sorry to mess you about with my site. I started a new site on a new server that stated it was unlimted access. After 2 weeks of uploads they suspended my site because I overran the 5000 FTP upload limit. It didn't say anywhere on the site that they had any restrictions. So for the moment I have had to go back to using my old site until I can find a new home for my site you can find me on.

Does anyone know of a free website provider that has no limits on the amount of FTP uploads you use as my site uploads every 5 mins I would have the same problem with most of the free sites. Just can't afford to pay for a website provider to host my site. And BT are soon to close down the site I have used with them for the last 12 years.
Let me know if there is anything that any of you know out there. Would hate to lose my site after all these years

This is not free but very affordable at £17 per annum or £29 if you pay for 2 years upfront. You are most unlikely to exceed the 5GB per month bandwidth and there are no limits on FTP usage.

They are very good with almost faultless uptime 99.9% SLA and I use them on this package to support my weather website.

Found a new web server at long last that gives me 200mb FTP uploads and unlimted braodband width for £35 a year with free domain name. Set the site up and now have transfered everything to the site and the auto upload is working fine. Luckily most of the weather data have very low data amounts so the uploads easily meet their demands. You can now find the British Isles Weather Webcam site at

I am still asking for more webcams to submit to the site, being No.1 in most search engine istings gives all the webcams on there a good chance of being seen. And it is very well used. Just hope BT don't pull the plug on my old site until people get used to the new URL. It will take a while to get the new site up to the top but it will get there I am sure.
