Ok, my wife is really upset, I've been working on the website non-stop till 1 or 2 in the am. :groan:

Got my Pi 3 going and will be making that the primary (out of 5) Pi. Will be my weather station server CumulusMX and I'll use my Pi camera. Starting to put the pieces together.

Here's a pic from my Pi webcam of my Pi hard at work. Notice the "neat" place of honor. LoL !!!!

Sorry, haven't figured out how to make pic smaller.

f4phlyer: just to comment that a Pi3 B+ is huge overkill for running Cumulus and uploading a Webcam. A Pi Zero W will handle that with power to spare ...

Goof point. I'm using the Pi for other purposes, it is a significant power saver over the Windows 10 beast it replaced.

Hi Folks-
My web cams are pretty old, fairly low res, but have been running for quite a few years. They need to be power-cycled now and again, which the Pis handle most of the time, detecting when they appear to be hung for the most part. There are two web cam pages, a "top" one showing the current (within 5 minutes) image from both cams... (when everything works):
http://dilly.family/wx/webcam.html
Image

At the bottom of that page is a link to a "calender" of vids of the daily sets of images collected into time lapse mp4s. The North-facing one sometimes shows some interesting cloud movements. Occaisionally the South-facing one of our garden and shed (and weather station) will pick up a critter (sometimes the 2-legged variety) walking through the yard.

The calendars are chained so one can navigate back in time. I still get a kick out of the time lapse. I keep thinking I should do an annual one, but never found the time. (I think the light and dark days might render it less than fluid to view.)

Yeah, I know ... Terrible siting for an anemometer, but we're surrounded by very tall trees - so it's a lost cause! ;) The mp4s are generated on a Raspberry Pi which does a suprisingly good job. As I understand it, ffmpeg leverages some hardware - and they build considerably faster than they used to on my web server host.

Cheers-

Hi,
Been a while since I have been on the forum. Shut down FranklinWeather after retiring and selling up down south in Franklin Tasmania back in Aug 2019.
Moved to retirement house in Beaumaris North East Coast Tasmania and not stopped since Aug 2019 setting the property up and finally getting the weather station running.
Still using refurbished VP2Pro and also Meteobridge Pro Red as well as CumulusMX (mainly for running my WxSim Forecast.
Setup a new HKVision 4K cam roof mounted below the anemometer facing East by South over the Tasman Sea.
I use IPTimelapse for the processing/upload 24/7, including Livestream.

Main Site:

Livestream: (using BlueIris).
