Hmm, are you working on your camera right now? The frame seems to change slightly with each refresh. Maybe the wind is moving?...rain storm? The image is showing a bright light shining into the camera and maybe a shed roof below the light...???

It's working, whatever it's showing right now. Will be able to tell more in the daylight.

I really like the auto-refresh, that's on my "to do" list.

The fact that you can see the security lights shining towards it means it's working

It's darkness hours now, so no sky to be seen, but you CAN see the weather - In so much that if you're seeing the frame move slightly, that's being caused by the 20 MPH winds. We've got yet another VERY stormy day in store tomorrow and the first rain bands are just arriving.

I decided to turn the camera 90' so it's pointing South. This means it avoids the security lights at night time, and is aimed at a clearing between houses, with a tree in the distance - probably a better view for seeing the weather!

Hi I was wondering if you have a homeserver or if it is hosted , if it is hosted how do you get port 81 ?

I home host everything, so the main website is on a server on Port 80 and the webcam is using it's own inbuilt server on port 81. It was just the simplest no nonsense approach to take.

Snapshot image from my new YCam Bullet 720HD webcam - should work 24hrs per day. Just need to find some decent free software so I can create some time lapse stuff

Adelaide weather cam online between 6am - 9pm with time lapse videos.
Camera is a Foscam FI9805W. Running at 720p with images taken every 17 seconds(for time lapse) and updated stills every 10 mins. Time lapse created at end of day.

Nice scene, gwheelo!!! Even caught a couple of seagulls. One thing I do see is a large transparent gray square in the upper righthand corner of your image covering about 25% of the image. Looks like a nice place!

That trasparent grey rectangle is the .mp4 time-lapse video. Apparently your browser does not support HTML5 necessary to view the video. You can update your browser to view. Any of the latest version of the popular browsers have the HTML5 video capabiliy: Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safary, etc. It works with IOS, Windows, Android.

That is interesting. I am running Firefox v28.0 and it tells me there are no updates available. This is an older computer running WinXP, though, so that might be an issue. I checked my system out at html5test.com and only scored 428 out of 555 points.

I have heard from others that even with up to date browsers they have a problem with HTML5 Video using win XP. With Microsoft it is always gain some, lose some with every step. The majority of XP machines now in use are in ATMs and Point-of-sale systems at this point plus a diminishing set of XP web users. I don't mean to denigrate XP - it is perhaps the best MS OS to date but without support and a bunch of new machines in users hands it is hard for me to stay behind.

I understand regarding XP. It is a solid, stable system, one of the best MS put out, but without support and updates it'll die a slow death. Even so, it is a great OS for running a weather station on and XP computers can be had for cheap...and I like cheap. I've been working on a Win7 machine at the office and like it ok, I'm just not familiar with the OS and not as comfortable with it as I am XP. Eventually I'll upgrade here at the house, but from what I've heard I'll be trying to stay away from Win8.
