I'm glad others have moved away from spending hundreds of pounds/dollars on a fancy camera. It's really not needed.
I use cheap indoor IP cameras with Pan/Tilt ability and HD resolution, mounted outdoors (but under cover of the eaves and inside a plastic bag !!). The image quality really doesn't suffer noticeably, and I've never had a problem with sun-burn. They cost about £25 from Aldi.
