Looking for an alternative to YAWCAM!

Post by geoffw »

Yawcam will no longer start on my PC. It is telling me it needs Java 1.7 not the 1.8 I now have installed. Also I understand it is no longer being developed.

So any suggestions for an alternative?

Well I use ConquerCam after I got fed up with YawCam failing on me http://www.theill.com/conquercam/

I can recommend it. It is not free but it is only $19.95.

Thanks, I've downloaded it and set it up. Will try it out for the 30 day test period. Certainly simpler than Yawcam to get running...

SebecTec IP Time lapse is other great product as well(not free) but does a lot.
The other alternative is to create your own as I have done, but its a lot of work.

I read your post and I downloaded the sw ContaCam. also I have used for a long time Yawcam extraordinary and revolutionary, but unfortunately no longer in development. then he supported only one device at a time and I want to use two identical devices (logitech quickcam express go).

ContaCam seems very simple, you can tell me if I can use it with two webcams ?? Thank you.

Try WebcamXP -

http://www.webcamxp.com/home.aspx

Works with all windows versions (XP onwards)- I'm currently using it on Win 7 - 64bit , it's free and has a lot of features - it will FTP to your website , the only small caveat is that it places a small watermark on the image (bottom left hand corner)
