Add meteo data to webcam

Post by meteocesar »

Hi,

Previously, sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand me:

I have a Foscam added on Blue Iris, and I would like to display current temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind bearing and direction.

I would need to change my current webcam program? Appart of Blue Iris, my Webcam is previously displayed on Google Chrome, who has and special plugin to manage Webcam options.

That's my webcam:

Thank you!

I don't know about Blue Iris. Most of us here use yawcam as it can do this.

I use direct capture with webget and ffmpeg to add my weather data with my foscam.
But I hear yawcam does a good job!!

As far as I could tell from the web site Blue Iris doesn't have the facility for custom text overlay, which seems very strange as it does do Weather Underground info text overlay !

As mentioned there are other (free) softwares which will allow custom overlay before upload.
You can easily use Cumulus to create any txt / macro file from <#webtags>.

Another way of doing it (on the web page) would be CSS.
If it is a 'static' page it could be a Cumulus Template, using <#webtags> OR as you will probably be using a bit of javascript to renew you picture every 30s / 1min, you could use a bit more script to update your conditions from realtime.txt.
This has the advantage that you are in control of the type face and size / colour.

Here's an experiment using someone elses site layout (sorry JL :o ) css overlay content produce by static php script

Blue Iris Tools allows you to get current Data from WeatherUnderground and display it on the image.

Old Pump Road Wx Webcam

is where my Blue Iris is sending an image every 5 minutes. This is then also grabbed by WeatherUnderground and displays on that website too.
