Just wondering if this can be done??
Using foscams snapshot command http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=admin&pwd=xxx
Using dos only...
And how to overlay a text file???
I've been playing with overlaying a text file with ffmpeg creating a mp4, mainly for a watermark.
But wondering if instead of getting the camera sending to ftp, I would create a script to grab directly off camera and overlay the realtime.txt Created by cumulus.
It might be a long shot

Re: using the cameras http snapshot in dos and overlay text?
I don't know anything about the foscam software but for text overlays, I'm using ImageMagick
There are options to overlay text or graphics. It can be a steep learning curve to get it just right but there are lots of online examples to use.

Please see this. It could be easily modified to pull the custom text from a file:
