Cumulus Realtime query
Would someone be so kind and check to see if the real time page loads for them, as I've tried allsorts to get it to display but it gets stuck on "Loading Data"
Links are http://www.jems-world.co.uk/weather/Cum ... l andhttp://www.jems-world.co.uk/CumulusRealtime.html
There are 2 purely to see if either load.
Thanks and much appreciated Jem

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
I think the problem might be a cross-domain issue as your server says it is at http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginmedia.com/
You could try adding a clientaccesspolicy.xml file as described in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1495

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
Thanks for the reply Steve, but even not using my domain name doesn't work ,link below
http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginm ... ltime.html or
http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginm ... ltime.html
Weird as it was all working, which is why I'm struggling to find the problem, as nothing my end as been changed.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
That would definitely require a clientaccesspolicy.xml file, as your XML has http://www.jems-world.co.uk/weather/realtime.txt in it for the URL.The_One wrote:Thanks for the reply Steve, but even not using my domain name doesn't work ,link below

That would suggest that it's not a cross-domain issue;but you should eliminate that first.Weird as it was all working, which is why I'm struggling to find the problem, as nothing my end as been changed.
Normally the javascript console would show an error when it's not working, but in this case there are apparently no errors. I can only think that it's something to do with your web hosting, if it's not a cross-domain issue.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
I have just done as you suggested and placed a clientaccesspolicy.xml in the root folder, but as yet not tried accessing the real time page as I've just logged out of ftp program. In fact I'll try now fingers crossed, nope, now getting "504 Gateway Time-out", really annoying.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
The app (or a browser) cannot download the clientaccesspolicy.xml or crossdomain.xml files, the server never returns any data.
http://www.jems-world.co.uk/clientaccesspolicy.xml
http://www.jems-world.co.uk/crossdomain.xml
It may be a policy on the web server about .xml file mime types?

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
But, use the domain name http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginm ... policy.xml and they work.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
I would suggest as an experiment changing the realtime URL in the Cumulus XML file to http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginm ... altime.txt and then accessing the realtime page via http://www.jemdouglass.webspace.virginm ... ltime.html which should remove any cross-domain issues from the equation.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
Steve your a star mate, changed it to my host address rather than my own domain name and hey presto works again. But it's still strange as to why it stopped working in the first place, which is rather annoying, think myself virgin have done something on the server as it used to work perfectly, but never mind thanks to the help received it now works again.
Thanks Jem

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
Yes, it's working from http://www.jems-world.co.uk/weather/Cum ... ltime.html again now. It's something to do with the way Virgin are forwarding your jems-world domain to the virginmedia domain, causing a cross-domain issue.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
Hi Steve!
I have same problem in my web page.... It worked o.k. from 12/03/2013 till about 2 weeks ago it stopped working. It stops in that Loading data screen. But the strange thing is that when my son tries from his PC this my Cumulus realtime, it works to him. And he has this realtime Cumulus too in his PC. When I test it from my PC, it dosen`t work to me... but in his PC that works too??
What should I do? We have same web server, but both have own domain and web account ...
With best regards:

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
It works OK for me too, using http://www.kapo511.net/wxcumreally.php
Are you sure you are using that and not http://kapo511.net/wxcumreally.php
If you use the latter you will get the cross-domain restriction described above.

Re: Cumulus Realtime query
Turn on the javascript console in your browser, refresh the page, and see if the console reports any errors.
