Hello,

I use your software "Grabber" in its latest version.
I am very satisfied with your achievement and thank you.

I have two questions for you:

* I used locally "WampServer" how to set ftp to display local data "Grabber" continuously?

* How franciser your software? I am a user "French"
and my knowledge of the English language is poor ...

Thank you for your reply and your achievement.

best regards

Hi Michel,

In answer to your first question, I expect you would need to install/setup an FTP server
locally on your PC, which you would then upload the Grabber pages to via your FTP URL.

With regards to your second question, Grabber has been writting in English only
as English is my Primary language and I do not speak anyother languages.

All the best

Mark

Hi Mark,

You did a great job on your grabber program. I do have one idea that might be helpful in your program. instead of using the tab windows for each graph and data views would it be better to group all the graphs together in a pull down menu and all the data windows in less tabs so there is no right and left arrow on the right side of the tabs. It will make it easier to access the data that some one wants. I don't know about what others would like but having more origination in the different views would be more helpful for me and it would make it easy to find the info others am looking for.

kb0mgh,

Sorry I have only just replied but am very busy at the moment.

Unfortunately due to the limited amount of time I have currently have, I have not
been able to do any work on Grabber. But I have noted peoples recent requests
and when I get some free time I will look at the possibility of implementing them.

To Do list

1.
Warrandyte - extend realtime.txt file read attempts to 10.

2.
Warrandyte - Wind direction against time graph.

3.
kb0mgh - Look at grouping graphs into pull down menus to reduce tabs.

New Release version 1.6.3 (20-09-14)
CRTDGv163.zip

Version 1.6.3 - (20-09-14)

This is quite a large version update, so if you are using an earlier version
please download this new release as it fixes a number of bugs.

This version also implements the various requests from; Warrandyte and kb0mgh,
sorry it's taken so long.

1.
Added "Email_Alert.log" file. (every time an email alert is triggered
it will be logged to the aforementioned log file.

2.
Debugged Email Alerts, as alert trigger code was buggy, now working correctly.

3.
Changed "grab data" from realtime.txt attempts to 10No.
Also program now logs failed attempts to Error.Log file.

Added "Failed data attempts" box on main screen to show how many attempts
have been made to grab data from realtime.txt file (if program fails to
get data).

4.
Added "top menu bar" to program. Now all graphs and configuration screens
can be directly access from this menu. Also moved some buttons from
main screen to menu bar.

5.
Added WindBearing Chart. Updated HTML webpages to include chart.

6.
Revised positions of group boxes & text in main configuration screen layout.

7.
Speed up charts by using SeriesChartTypes 'fastline' & 'fastpoint'.

8.
Added InsideHighTemperature & InsideLowTemperature email alerts.

9.
START button now clears timers and labels on Debug Screen.

10.
Corrected code under the [Save Settings / close screen] button on the
main configuration screen. Which was starting "Chart Export"
(i.e. saving & Ftp'ing charts) in error, due to timer being enabled.

New Inside temperature Email Alerts

Hopefully I have ironed out all bugs, but as always please let me know if you run into any problems
and I will look into fixing them asap.

Also I would like to thank everyone for their patience waiting for this release. The past month or
so has been a bit manic for me and my family and finding time to code has been a real struggle.
Luckily things are back on track for us now, so I have been able to spend some time to get this
version coded and release. :)

Hello Mark.
Everything is working now very well. But i am wondering if its possible to have mail trigger no after one hour, but when lets say the temperature increases or reduses one or two dec, or the rain rate is more than 40 mm/h. Or the wind gust is sudenly 50 km/h.
Thanks
Vaggelis

Hi Vaggelis,

Due to the way my code works for the email alerts, implementing your request would not be
easy to do and would require me to completely re-write a rather large proportion of code (which
already took me a long time to get working as it is now). So at the moment I do not have plans
to add this additional email alert feature.

I may however be able to give the user the option to specify how long the re-activation interval
after the email is triggered (other than the default 1hr), which may or may not be of use to you?

Regards

Mark

Mark,
thanks for your quick responce. For wind gust and rain rate, it will be so usefull to have an email inform as for difficult weather condtition. For the temperature its not necesary to have Information so often. I suppose that it will be nice if we can have Information let say for rain rate 40 mm/h as soon as possible. And then we have again Information - let say after five minutes - if we have 200 mm/h. By this i mean that it will be very usefull if we can manage the re-activation interval.

Again thank you for your so usefull program.

Hi Vaggelis,

I will look into implementing shorter re-activation intervals in the next release for you.

Hi Vaggelis,

The red line is plotted if rain is "predicted", a blue line is plotted when rain is "recorded".
So in your graph, Grabber was predicting that rain may fall at those times, but as there was no rain recorded no blue line was plotted.

Hope that makes sense.

Regards

Mark
