Hi Paul,

I'm trying to move all my weather software from my server onto a dedicated laptop to try and
reduce my electricity bill. When I put Grabber 1.6.0 onto it and tested the email would not send
and it needed me to send it securely. So I added the secure code to Grabber and it
worked on all my machines. So typically I thought it would be fine for everyone else lol.

I will add an option to send securely or not in the next release.
Could I ask that you use the old version 1.6.0 until I can get round to add this option.

Sorry to mess you about, but after testing on 3 machines I thought it was safe to release.

btw.
I have removed the download link for ver: 1.6.1, so that other people will not get the same
problem as you are experiencing, until I get chance to fix it.

Regards

Mark

Thanks Mark.

I will put 1.6.1 to the side for now, and all is working well for me with 1.6.0.

Thanks Paul

Once I have had chance to update my code I will post
up the new version which will also incorporate Milos's compass
point request.

Any chance of a wind direction graph?
I find it very useful in working out whats happening locally.
Thanks
1.60 seems stable but would prefer to get the realtime file locally as I have to use 2 ftp logins to ensure things update correctly.

Hi Rob,

Sorry I've only just replied to your post, but been very busy over the past week. Also looks like
it's going to get worse as my other half is getting made redundant from her work, so I am going to
have to spend some time trying to help her get a new job.

F.Y.I.
I am just finishing off a new version 1.6.2, which incorporates Milos's requests for Czech & Slovak
compass points for the Wind Compass. As well as the addition of a TickBox to turn ON or OFF
using a 'SSL Connection' for the Weather Email Alerts.

I want to get this version released before I start looking at your request for a wind graph,
as these are already done. But I will for sure try and implement a wind graph for you in the
next version 1.6.3 once I get a bit of free time again.

With regards to your question about getting the "Realtime" file locally, if I have understood
your question correctly. You can already enter a local Realtime.txt path in Grabbers Enter URL: text box,
at the top of the screen, by just typing in the local path to your Cumulus folder, rather than
a remote URL.

i.e.
C:\Cumulus\realtime.txt

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Mark

Just to make sure I understand your request, can you confirm that the graph
you are asking for would be something along the lines of what I show in an
Excel example below.

i.e.
The "cumulative" wind figure shown for each wind direction.

Thanks.
More around the cumulus style graph showing direction against time so we can see if it is veering or backing etc.

I have a constant error that it can't see the retaltime.txt file and to enter the URL which halts processing. As the realtime.txt updates every 30 seconds the chance of a clash with the ftp is quite high so the file may be not available.

Because this requires a manual intervention (hit start button) the data gets lost.

Can the program be made to ignore this error for a count of say 10 times that gets reset every time the realtime.txt is read.

Hi Mark,

I have spent a day pouring through the 31 pages of this topic looking for my answer but to no avail.

All is working fine on my PC and I love all the features you have added over time.

My problem is not being able to get the images and htm pages from my PC to my server using the Grabber Software.
I have tried as many ways as I can think of. The user name and password are correct as using filezilla I can log into the folder.
I just cant seem to work out the ftp path I need to insert.

Could I please send you my server details with the hope you can help.

Many thanks in advance.
Cheers
Jenny

Rob,

I will have a look and see if I can replecate the graph along the lines
of the cumulus graph. With regards to your realtime.txt reading problem,
I currently have Grabber try to get the realtime.txt file 3 times before
it throws and error that it cant access the file. I did have an earlier problem
which is now resolved that grabber was opening Realtime.txt but not closing
it which stopped cumulus being able to access and write to the file as it was
still open by Grabber, but this should no longer be a problem.

I can try and increase the amount of times grabber trys to access Realtime.txt
to 10 for you and see if this helps.

Jenny,

If you can 'Private Message' me with your server login
details etc.. I will take a look and see if I can work
out why it is not working for you.

I am currently very busy with work and trying to help
my other half find a new job at the moment, so don't have
a lot of free time but I will have a look as soon as I can for you.

Hi Mark,

Many thanks for your offer but gw3atz has steered me onto the right track with the testfile now uploading as should.

Thank you also for this program. Something different to play with and view.

Cheers
Jenny
