Hi Mark!! again

Why on earth my CRTDG still does not work?? Now it says that it is FTP problem..... I have tried and tried, but I have not got it work... That FTP-test button works o.k. but automatic FTP don't? I have changed my firewall and made Norton antivirus so that CRTDG can upload those pics and charts... How can it be possible that test FTP is o.k. but that autoupload don't work? Two pics attached.

Hi Kapo,

That is very strange indeed!

Can I just confirm with you that none of the charts etc.. get uploaded to
your FTP site? i.e. the error message appears, but the charts still get uploaded.

or

None of the charts get uploaded and the message is displayed.


One thing I can suggest is that if you are ok giving me access to your FTP
site, then I can run Grabber from my machine at home with your FTP login details
and see if I can get it to work, or if it errors it may help me pin point where the
problem is.

If you are ok with me having temporary access to your FTP site, could you
Private Message me your login details and this will hopefully speed up
me finding the error, as I can start ruling out various possibilities.

If not , not to worry and I will see if I can find the problem another way.

Hi Kapo,

From looking at your remote /grabber/ folder I can see that the charts did upload at: 28-Nov-13 00:18
and that the ftptestfile.txt uploaded sucessfully at: 27-Nov-2013 23:48

I am just wondering if your FTP site was temporarily unavailable when it tried to upload the files again 15mins later?
(I know sometimes I used to get this problem with my FTP site being unavailable and I could not connect,
but then all of a sudden it stopped. I guess my hosting company was doing something their end which they
needed to stop access for a limited time).


FYI.
Grabber will try twice to upload to the ftp site (once after 15mins and then again 15mins later),
and if it can't gain access it will then throw up an error, so I am just wondering if this is what
has happend.

If the log-in credentials were incorrect then none of the charts nor test file would have been uploaded.
So we know that grabber is able to connect to your FTP server succesfully.

Could I ask that you try Grabber again and let me know if it still has connection problems?

Hi Mark

No, the CRTDG don't FTP the charts and other stuff. Only once it does that. But that testfile works always I have tried it... Very strange, I don't understand that. Grabber works o.k. in my local PC, but not over the net.... I removed all the charts and other from my web page's folder named Grabber. Grabber made new charts, but after that no updates in charts or in other stuff...

I think I may have a similar problem. The CRTDG will upload when I press the "Start - Export charts" but the next upload produces the error "Please check FTP credentials" the test page works every time.
Also may be a different problem but the web page generated has some missing pics e.g. rain, frost prediction and the time updated.

It is a while since I used the CRTDG but it did work well, all I did was upgrade to the new version.

Hi thanks for both of your posts.

I am very busy next week, but have the following week off work. So I will be able to have a look through my code and see if I can work out where the problem is then. Does seem strange though as my version which I have running is working fine. :-/

Hi Mark,
It looks like my v1.5.3 is not updating either. I have switched back and forth a couple of times between 1.5.3 and 1.5.2 and when running 1.5.3 the images nor Date generated are current but 1.5.2 is ok. The settings are identical and the settings in the txt files seem correct.

Can I just get confirmation from you all on which version of the program you were using when you experienced this ftp problem. And which version was previously working without the ftp upload problem. Just so I can refer back through the code I revised to see where the bug could lie.


Paul, did you mean version 1.5.4 not 1.5.3? (1.5.4 is the latest test version)

I am currently using version 1.5.3 which has the FTP problem, the version I was using previously was 1.3.7, and that worked OK.

v1.5.2 worked fine
v1.5.3 was the most recent version I had downloaded and installed some time ago. However I had to restart CRTDG after the v1.5.3 install and must have started v1.5.2 in error and which worked fine, then a couple days ago had to restart CRTDG again and then correctly started v1.5.3 and yesterday found that this was not uploading.

I must have missed the v1.5.4 download post other than I had seen your v1.5.4d testing post. I now downloaded this 1.5.4d and all appears to be uploading at the 15 minute interval, so all is good here.

Thanks for posting up your version info.
Hopefully with you using ver 1.5.4d (test ver) it will have sorted the problem.
Can you keep an eye on it and let me know if you run into any problems.

FYI.
1.5.4d was a test version I uploaded for Bruce, to try and recify his FTP problem,
once I am happy that all bugs have been ironed out I will then upload a public release
version.
