Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Hmm very strange my values in the realtime.txt are correct and it isn't an issue of the decimal seperator because realtime.txt allways uses a point.

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
I decided to do some tidying up some of the screens today and a few little tweaks,
see below for changes.
Download version 1.1.2 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv112.zip
New in this version:
1.1.2 - (04-03-12)
1. Tidied up various tabs an re-arranged data + hi-lighted some values to make them stand out.
2. Added compass graphic to [WindCompass] screen.
nitrx,
I am a bit unsure why the graph is displayig x10 value!
The values the graph use are taken directly from the values displayed
on the same screen.
As you can see from my screenshot below, the values displayed (shown circled in red)
are the same values as that shown on the graph but to the nearest whole number.
Do your values (where mine are circled in red), show the correct Temperature, DewPoint & WindChill?
as per Cumulus's Screen?, and are only shown x10 value on the graph only?
One thing that may be causing the problem is if you are not using ".NET Framework 4" ?
as if you are using an earlier version there may be a compatability problem.
If you could Private Message me the URL of your "realtime.txt" file I will take a look and
see if I can replecate the problem here on my pc.
see below for changes.

Mark, it gets better every time all functioning ok with the latest update,
Just one thing Mark will the grabber ever be opened up to a full screen version, this would expose the menu bar in full

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Hi Geoff,
I will look into that in the next version for you
I wanted to try and keep the screen compact and not have wasted space.
But as I find my self adding more features the space is running out so inevitably
I will have to resize it a bit.

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Hi nitrx,
I have tried running it using your realtime.txt file and the Temperature Graph seems
to be displaying correctly as seen below.
The only thing I can think is that maybe there is something set up differently (country dependant)
on your pc which is different to mine (which is UK), which is causing it to display x10.
The reason I am thinking this is that when I looked at the [Wind] tab, under the "Wind direction" group,
the "Current wind direction", shows a value of : NO
and the "Average wind direction", shows a value of: ZW
Which seems odd to me, unless you call the compass points something different in you country?
and Cumulus is writing these values to the RealTime.txt file?
**In the UK I am used to seeing:
N, NNE, NE, ENE, E, ESE, SE, SSE, S, SSW, SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW, NNW
I am not sure if there is anything I can do to correct the x10 display on your graph,
without creating a bespoke version for yourself which I could put some code in to
divide the value by 10 to display on the graph only which may correct it for you.
Also if your compass points are called something different in your country other than the
above **, if you let me know your what your equivalent versions
are I could change these for your bespoke copy so the [Wind Compass] displays correctly for you.

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
The compass points can be anything the user defines using 'strings.ini' so maybe your program has to accept a configuration parameter of an array of compass points to make it 'universal'?

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Mark I don't thik it's anissue of the compaas points, when I use your realtime.txt the temperaturegraphs are also multiplied by 10, as the other Mark says the compasspoints are indeed an issue for the windrosegraphic (I noticed it before) N / W are displayed but the others not most countries have different names for ( France is really a mess )Solorize wrote:

The Dutch names are N , NNO, NO ,ONO , O , OZO, ZO ,ZZO, Z , ZZW, ZW, WZW, W , WNW, NW, NNW
There is no need to make a special version for me I will inspect tommorow if I've the right NET 4 version anyhow I've to loop up how I can find this out.
Indeed if you want to make it universal you shall have to make an array for the compasspoints as mcrossley suggests

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
I will have a go at sorting out the compass points problem over the next few days.
I've just got a few other things to sort out, which will mean that I wont get change
to get onto a fix straight away.
Also I am still stumped as to why the temperature values are x10 for the Temperature Graph

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
I've been running the grabber today and noticed that you can set it to 60 secs but it seems to do 5 minutes. A gadget doing the same grab gets it every minute. Realtime is uploaded every minute. Haven't tried the lower seconds settings.

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
I installed the grabber on another PC (laptop) and had to install NET 4 framework unfortunally the results are still the same (graphs for the temperture are multiplied by 10, very strange, the windspeedgraphs are fineSolorize wrote: Also I am still stumped as to why the temperature values are x10 for the Temperature Graph
