Hi Richard.

Thanks for the info.

My little girl had gone down with a virus so as I'm off work now looks like I will be having to look
after her when my other half goes back to work Monday if the childminder won't have her. So I may not be able to look at the code until later in the week.

But as soon as I can I will start looking into the problem.

Mark.

Richard / Kapo,

I have started looking into my code to see if I can pinpoint the problem.

I've tweaked the code where I think the problem may be and have put a
bit of code to throw an error to an on screen MessageBox, which will hopefully
show me further information on the error location.

Could I ask you both to download this test version and screen capture all the
error messages you get and post them up into this thread, so I can see what they
say.

There will probably be two errors thrown, the first one being a MessageBox with an Exception error
and then once you close that one the other one: "Please check FTP Credentials, press [CONFIG] button to view.", "FTP Problem!"
may be displayed.

FYI
I have changed the wording slightly on the "Please check FTP......." error so
than I can make sure it is a specific part of the code that is failing. So the screen capture
is important as it will enable me to see which error is being thrown.

NOTE:
To everyone else, please DO NOT download this version as it still has the
bug in and is only a test version for me to locate where the problem is.

Hi Mark

I have installed and run the test version, the error message below was generated.

Also the web page is partly updated, the charts are uploaded but the Pics for page updated, pressure at station, rain, snow, fog prediction etc. are not.
May that's what you expected! :o

Mark

Below is a screen dump of what is uploaded.
As I said above the charts are uploaded but not the "prediction" pics.

The CRTDG is uploading every 15 mins and the error is generated every time, as of now I have 4 errors on the screen!!

Hi Rich,

Thanks for posting up the error, that has helped me a lot.

I managed to replicate the same error as you, by un-checking
the "Does the station have Solar Sensor" tick box on the
[Extra Data] tab.

For the mean time if you tick this box this should stop the error.

I do not have a solar sensor, but still have mine ticked as the
"Theoretical Max" still gets plotted to the chart.

I will start work on correcting this error this morning.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi Mark
I tried CRTDG once again... And now my Norton 360 did this: "The computer program worked suspiciously. The program was removed." So I could not even try that. When I installed it, Norton tried to block this prog. but then I made that "Run anyway ..", but it seems that it was not enough to Norton...

Hi Mark,
While my Davis 6152 does not have solar sensor I have that 'Does station have Solar Sensor?" ticked as that way it shows the number of sunshine hours from my B-L Sunrecorder, and from your findings likely why I am not having the current problem with ftp updates.

Argh. Norton is junk. I haven't used a Norton product in years.

I have found the problem which is if the tick box is not ticked for "Does the station have Solar Sensor"
the program then tries to delete the file "solarradiationchart.png" from the FTP site, which does not exist,
therefore causing Grabber to error. Which in turn then stop processing all the other code afterwards,
which was why certain images were not uploading.

I have now revised my code to check to see if the file exists on the server first and if it does not
exist, then the code by-passes the deletion and should avoid the error.

Paul,
Yes that would have been why yours was working OK, and we were not experiencing this problem.

Kapo,
For some strange reason my AVAST Antivirus (on my weather server), today decided to notify
me that Grabber was a threat! and deleted the *.exe file. Now it looks like it is the same for you
with Norton.

I have no idea why all of a sudden it is classed as a threat!?, as my code is not malicious in anyway
and I check my machine regularly for viruses and malware etc.. to make sure it always clean.
I have just run another scan to make sure and it's come back clean.

I've tested the program on my coding machine which also runs AVAST Antivirus and it runs without
any threat being detected. Which seems strange, as if it flags it up on one machine I would have thought
that it would flag it up on another machine running the same Antivirus software with the same virus signatures.

Also I have run it on my main PC which has Kaspersky running on it and no threat is detected either.

Looks like AVAST and Norton could be flagging up as a False Positive. So the only way around it at the
moment is to add Grabber to your antivirus's; Exclusion List, White List or Trusted List, dependent upon
what it is called on your antivirus program.

Richard & Kapo,

Can you both test the below test version (with the revised code) to see if it now works
for you without the error and uploads all the charts successfully, and let me know if it runs
OK now or you still get errors or problems.

Richard,

That's great news :) I am glad it is working correctly for you now.

I will await to hear back from Kapo, and if it works OK I will then
do a public release version for everyone to download.

Kapo,

Can you let me know if version 1.5.4f works OK for you?
And if you managed to get it to install and run without Norton
deleting it.

Thanks

Mark

Have You to put something concrete fault / lack of, or is that just your own feelings? I have used Norton since 1996....1997, and no bad thing to say of it....
