Beginning to get to grips with the program but I cannot get the gauges to work, real-time gauges are ticked,they work ok on the local host but do not update the website. MXdiags say realtomegauges.txt not found, not showing in the web directory so cannot be uploaded to website. The website is not updating unless I do f5 to update but the gauges do not work. I presume that I have missed something but cannot see what it is.
Any suggestions please as going around in circles.

A CumulusMX zip download should have the realtimegaugesT.txt file included in the \web folder
Then make sure the Settings Web/FTP Settings are ticked for updating, including Realtimegauges.txt FTP and set the interval

Enjoy,

Thanks Paul, that helped, gauges now updating but last station update does not change unless I use f5 to force an update. Real-time gauges ticked and interval set, so trying to sort that now. Thanks for your help.

hi.
I cannot get the last station update to work on the website, it works ok on the ui page. auto update is ticked.F5 will update the web page, also current conditions and cumulus forecast do not work despite being set in settings.php. Could it be a common setting I have missed?
Any help or suggestions please

Pete

As I am typing a reply to indicate some files are not updating, I see you are in the process and now realtimegauges.txt and realtime-x.txt are updating and your site has a current update time. However realtime.txt is not yet updating http://www.cardingmillweather.co.uk/mxtest/realtime.txt.
ERROR!!!: Recheck your settings in Web/FTP for Enable Realtime.txt FTP. This should be unticked as it is replaced by realtime-x.txt (sorry for my error)

Enjoy,
Paul

Please see my edit re realtime.txt in my previous post.

@Pete,
One further suggestion re the updating; have you edited ajaxCUmx.js line 73?

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul
Thanks for the reply, line 73 seems ok it is ‘/public_html/mxtest/‘. I think that is right,do you think it would affect the current conditions and system forecast info as well. The gauges seem to update ok. I did tick real-time.txt and that uploaded but have now unticked.
Probably like most things it will be a simple(silly) mistake that I have made but at the moment the more I look the less I see, so am at a loss

Thanks
Pete

As per the HowTo I have edited my \CumulusMX\webfilesmx\ajaxCUmx.js file line 73 to -
var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website
and FTP that to my website

The UIwebsite downloadzip has a default of -
var realtimeFile = './wxshare/realtime-x.txt'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website
var imagedir = './images/'; // place for wind arrows, rising/falling arrows, sun icon etc

It looks like yours is quite different -
var realtimeFile = '/public_html/mxtest/'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website
var imagedir = '/public_html/images/tml/images/'; // place for wind arrows, rising/falling arrows, sun icon etc

I think that you need to at minimum remove the /public_html and add the actual file name realtime-x.txt

Enjoy,
Paul

In ajaxCUmx.js
var realtimeFile = './wxshare/realtime-x.txt'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website

Remove ./wxshare/

var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website

My apologies, not sure how that sneaked through into whichever file set you downloaded.

hi both, thanks for the suggestions, still no luck. My path to the folder to the website is ftp://cardingm@cp160175.hpdns.net/public_html/mxtest
I think the problem is somewhere there, my main website is in the public_html root directory and mxtest is a sub directory from that as I have 3 sites running.
as both the conditions and forecast have no data displaying I hope that it is a common fix. the website also does not change colour and update as does BCJKiwi's page does.

hope this info helps.

Hi Pete,
My host is GoDaddy and in
My CumulusMX Internet settings Remote FTP Directory is: public_html/cumulusmx
and in ajaxCUmx.js I have: var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt'; and this updates at realtime interval

In another separate CUwebsite install with Cumulus1
My Cumulus1 Internet settings Remote FTP Director is public_html/cumulus1
and in ajaxCUmx.js I had: var realtimeFile = './realtime-x.txt'; and this updates at realtime interval
and I have changed it to: var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt'; and this also updates at realtime interval

I presume yourInternet settings Remote FTP Directory is public_html/mxtest
then in ajaxCUmx.js try: var realtimeFile = './realtime-x.txt';
If that is not successful try - var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt';
I don't think you need to repeat public_html in your path setting.

Good luck,
Paul

Hi all

This is a very minor correction.

In the file charts.php which is found in webfilesMX, at line 65 which is the spelling on the buttons area, the spelling of "humudity" should be corrected to "humidity".

best wishes

@paulMy, G6GUH
'./realtime-x.txt' and 'realtime-x.txt' are functionally identical

@ G6GUH
Can't reach your link as it is password protected!
Have a look at the 'Adding a new page_How_To.txt' in UIwebsiteMX_Options.
Ther is a discussion there regarding file locations around line 94.
Ensure ajaxCUmx.js is finding and updating realtime-x.txt file at the location you have set.
If realtime-x.txt is in the same folder as ajaxCUmx.js then line 73 should be
var realtimeFile = 'realtime-x.txt'; // URL location of "realtime" data file relative to document root of website

@griffo42
Thanks - will update the files for the next update.
