hi
just joined forum. bought a Fine wh1080 from maplin last week. set it up without wind sensors as too cold to work outside. transmitter under overhanging shed roof. worked ok till this morning when ext temp read 7.5C. going out to complete setup i realized it was b** cold, and greenhouse gauge read 1.2C, these normally agreed within 0.2C.
took transmitter indoors by pc and temp didn't rise. removed xmtr batteries in case i had picked up someone else's sensor and ext temp went to -----. checked batteries ok (brand new energiser lithium), and refitted. had to pull battery from screen unit to re-sync with sender and up comes 7.5C again despite internal temp being 21C. pulled all batteries, left 2 hours,restarted,- same result.
sorry a bit long winded, any one any ideas please or is it back to maplin?
also is there any way of forcing a re-sinc without pulling screen batteries and losing data/settings?

Re: external temperature stuck on 7.5C
Hi,
Sorry, it does sound as if your transmitter module (temperature sensor) has become faulty. That's assuming that the other external data (I guess only humidity and rain in your case) are updating correctly on the Console LCD.
No, AFAIK there is no other way to re-lock the receiver on the 108x models (there is on the 308xs), but you can at least download any dato into Cumulus before removing a battery. Then you could try repeatedly re-inserting a battery into the transmitter until you find the correct phase, but there is no indicator on the Console to show when it expects to see a signal. Therefore that could take a very long time, and reloading the settings would probably be much quicker.
Cheers, Alan.

Re: external temperature stuck on 7.5C
Is the temperature still incorrect with the wind sensors unplugged?
