Hi
During strong winds my rain readings go crazy. Last 3 hours had 2.6 inches and its dry and sunny outside, wind 23mph avrage. I thing my gauge, which is at the top of a 12 foot mast, moves to much causing the magnet to bounce from the reed switch giving the false readings. Any ideas?

Yes, I agree with your diagnosis. You need to move the rain gauge down nearer ground level and make sure it's securely mounted to something which won't move.

There is some information about sensor positioning in the FAQ part of the Wiki.
That says that when the instrumentation design permits the rain gauge should be just above ground level.
